TURKEY CHUTE 4/27/11

(LINK) Teton Snow Summary    The powder skiing just does not end. There are some ridiculous snow stats on the Teton Avalanche Report  right now. 40 days and and 40 nights of snow from March 14 to April 21 produced 18 FEET of snow with the deepest snow pack in 45 years.  Went up 25 Short with Bernie and Phil the other day and were greeted with some great north facing powder.

Due to the heavy snow pack we could ski into Turkey Chute, sort of.

Bernie's turn

I skied first and it was pretty deep with some face shots mixed in, there were some loaded pillows but nothing seemed to move with ski cuts. East facing 25 short had two different crust layers that were fracturing a bit. Still some scary conditions out there.

Did you guys catch a glimpse of the north face of Buck Mt. at all? Wondering how filled in it looked. Turkey photos looked sweet, nice powder spring we’re having here in the Tetons. Can’t believe how much snow was in the entrance. Hit me back with some beta if you have time, thanks.
